Very good book

Bought this book because I'm a student tasked with designing and analyzing the aerodynamics of a FSAE student race car. As the book's title suggests, this book gives a good basis for aerodynamics design concepts used in cars. It also gives a little history of Formula 1 development which proved very useful especially when it came to design decisions regarding the under-body. If you are like me and have to answer to 10+ people, buy this book. Those 10+ people will all have their own design concepts that they will ask you to implement, and at least 50% of those concepts will be based off of what F1 cars look like. If you have this book, you can give them clear and concise reasons for not choosing their design strategy. My only regret about this book is that I didn't buy it sooner.

Competition Car Aerodynamics

I'm only about halfway through, so take this for what it's worth. This really is a great book for helping to understand the different devices used on racecars to create more downforce and also decrease drag. It's not very technical, but it's great to get a start into understanding how these devices work (i.e splitter/spoilers/diffusers/etc.). On top of the great explanations, it gives CFD pictures to help visualize what he is describing happening. You definitely won't regret buying this one.

Great choice especially if you are in FSAE. I am in FSAE and this book is very informative for those of us trying to get a better understanding of car aerodynamics.
